The team begins in Kenya

Jambo in the Name of Jesus.  This is Jane on Cathy's blog.  Everything worked out right!  We  sailed through the Airport in Belgium with only an hour stopover, we slept from Brussels to Nairobi and our suitcases all made it. We had a wonderful welcome at the airport from 3 Owinos and Cathy (she drove).
Yesterday we sorted through the used clothes. Bibles and school supplies we brought.  Several people happily donned new suits.
Cathy was thrilled to get some snack foods. The hardest thing about being a missionary for her is missing her Cheetos. She is really loved here in Kenya.  They say she is almost Kenyan now and she is so accepted that she can wear her shorts to church under her skirt and then hide behind the car and take the skirt off after worship.
Jane preached at the later service.  We worshiped from 9 am to 1:30, part of the time kneeling on the cement floor and a lot of time waving our arms and dancing.  Everything was in English and Swahili both.  This is a typical Sunday at church in Kenya.
When I introduced Kent Schmidt, who came with me from the USA, the pastor had trouble with his name.  He called Kent "cat" and you can only imagine what he called Schmidt! Everyone is excited to hear what Kent, who is the Financial Director of The Moody Church in Chicago, will have to say about running a church. The woman pastor in the church said,  "He is such a gentleman".  I thought, "great" then she added, "He is not like most American men."
We leave at 5:30 tomorrow morning to go downtown to catch an 8am bus to Kitale. It is a half hour trip with no traffic, but Nairobi is famous for it's traffic jams.  Last year it took us 2 hours just to go 2 miles out of the subdivision.  The bus will be a bumpy 9 hour ride.  Now Kent and I are a still in the jet lag daze, so remember us in prayer.
This is Cathy now.It is so nice to see Jane, my spiritual. What a blessing it is to spend time with her and Kent.Today in church .One follow was waiting at the door when the pastor arrived and he wanted to be saved.I can not remember his name but I have a picture and you can see in his face the joy of the Lord.

During second service I went to the kids class to give them their pictures. Here's a few pictures and a video will be on facebook

they were really excited to receive there picture.
after church I had to take a picture of one of the pastors and after that different ones wanted pictures.
so here is one the boys wanted.
Ian is the Bishops son then next is one of the elders sons, and the last is one of the ushers.I'm still not good with names and remembering them.think it has anything to do with my age.
well as you know we are leaving in the morning for a week in Kitale. Jane was nice in saying bumpy but it really is ,is a roller coaster ride if you set in the last few sets of the bus.
Keep praying as I pray for you all.
Blessings in Jesus name, Jane,Kent and Cathy
